Manual Directory Submission
Whilst manual directory submission can be an asset in link building, it needs to be part of a comprehensive link creation strategy. Adding a link to a directory that gives a Google link to one of your competitors is worth spending the time on.
However buying software or paying a company to submit your website to endless directories is a waste of time and money.
Why is this?
This is because Google is well aware of these free directories or link farms that have no other purpose but to gain your email address for spamming purposes. As the directories have not worthwhile content a link place here has no value.
Which directory do I add a link to?
Use software like WEB CEO to check your competitors back links and try and add links to these. WEB CEO is an excellent place to start and if often used by link building service providers to research the correct websites
